AMD has released its new Radeon Software Adrenalin 26.6.2 WHQL driver, and it comes with one of the most important updates for Radeon users this year. The headline feature is support for FSR 4.1 on Radeon RX 7000-series graphics cards, bringing AMD's latest AI-powered upscaling technology to millions of existing RDNA 3 GPU owners.
Until now, FSR 4.1 was largely associated with AMD's newer RDNA 4 graphics cards. With the release of Adrenalin 26.6.2, AMD is expanding access to the technology, allowing users of GPUs such as the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, RX 7900 XT, RX 7800 XT, RX 7700 XT, and RX 7600 series to benefit from improved image quality and smoother gameplay.
A Big Win for Existing Radeon Users
One of the biggest concerns among RX 7000-series owners was whether AMD's latest AI-enhanced gaming features would remain exclusive to newer hardware. The new driver answers that question by bringing FSR 4.1 support directly to RDNA 3 GPUs.
This means gamers who invested in Radeon RX 7000 graphics cards do not need to upgrade to a newer GPU to access AMD's latest image reconstruction technology. Instead, a simple driver update unlocks the feature.
For many users, this effectively extends the lifespan and value of their existing graphics card.
What Makes FSR 4.1 Different?
FSR 4.1 represents AMD's most advanced upscaling technology to date. The new version focuses on delivering sharper visuals while maintaining strong gaming performance.
Compared to previous versions, FSR 4.1 offers:
- Improved image clarity in motion
- Reduced shimmering on distant objects
- Better anti-aliasing quality
- Lower ghosting artifacts
- More stable frame generation performance
- Enhanced visual quality in demanding scenes
